Are you taking chance with your healthy food?
December 27, 2007
Have a quiet walk down your supermarket and chances are you will come across self appointed weight watchers who see normal food with disregard. Attracted by the fantasy of words and the visuals of getting into a sleaze pair of jeans, many of us get into the search of the perfect health food that will help us in our weight loss programs.
Most of the weight watchers love the labels - low calorie oats, zero cholesterol, golden crisps, fat free jellybeans and diet sorbets. In many instances, the one that go off the shelves are those that had made the loudest claims.
While the health food and diet food sales are zooming up month on month, the waistlines are too shooting up. And despite our best efforts to secure a low everything diet the obesity levels are at an all time high. The waist friendly foods and diets may be fashionable but they are always not a guarantee to weight loss.
We must check out the science behind such foods and understand that any food, low cal or not, will cause weight gain, if eaten in large quantities. Certain diet foods are trade gimmicks and contain hydrogenated fats which are nothing but trans fatty acids that can cause wight gain and health problems. Still, there are some products that are technologically converted to low fat health products like skimmed milk which helps in reducing the invisible fat.
A healthy diet combined with a healthy workout regime (with inputs from experts) can help you gain a lot your lost figure and confidence.
