They are also quite sensitive. This means that the contact lens which is in contact with the eyes need to be taken proper care of. In fact there are a number of known instances where people have suffered from eye infections because their contact lenses were not properly cared for. So how do you take the right care of contact lens so that your eyes are kept protected?

The first cardinal rule of contact lens is washing your hands thoroughly with soap before touching your contact lens. Make sure you completely wash off your soap and dry it clean. Take your contact lens off before you go to bed. Make sure you clean the lens with the right cleaning agent that has been prescribed by your doctor. After cleaning the lens store them in a solution. The solution that you use for cleaning and the one that you use for storing should be changed everyday. You must even keep the contact lens case as clean as possible.

Let’s face it; all of us have ‘suffered’ from minor eye problems and what better way to cure them than with the help of natural remedies. The Ayurvedic studies show us that the eye problems are caused by a large number of different upsetting of one of the three doshas. According to it, the sudden aggravation of the Kapha dosha aggravates dullness of eyes, while the increase of the Vata dosha leads to dryness of the eyes. Then there is the pitta dosha that is aggravated due to pollution or stress and results in bloodshot eyes. Other causes of sore eyes include insufficient sleep and others.

A few drops of any one of these will help moisten the eyes make them go back to the normal state. Half teaspoon fennel seeds in a cup of water applied after the substance cools down also make for excellent eye drops.

The correlation between the prevention of eye disorders and good nutrition is absolute positive. Worldwide studies have indicated that food consumption that is rich in the five nutrients can help protect the eyes from various eye disorders

The five nutrients:

Antioxidants, zeaxanthin and lutein

Beta-carotene

Vitamin C
