A drug addiction is a multifaceted activity, often marked with uncontrollable crave for drugs and a persistency for them even in the face of very negative consequences.

Basically drugs are a kind of pain killers. A persistent use of these substances results in their acceptance by the brain and it becomes difficult when a person tries not to take them.

The urge to consume drugs can take priority over the life of an individual and trigger a wide array of dysfunctional behaviors and poor health habits. The abuse of these substances also increases the occurrence of cardiovascular disorders, stroke, cancer, hepatitis and lung disorders.

Since this addiction is a disorder of chronic nature, any abstinence from it would require sustained and repeated drug treatment.

A rehabilitation program plays an important role in the overall treatment strategy. Some practices and methods of drug rehab programs have been able to stabilize the life of patients in a dramatic way.

But given the wide variety and types of patient preferences and limited resources at disposal, a dedicated health care system characterized by specialized treatments has become imperative including that for alcohol rehab.

Breaking the vicious cycle of addiction is the primary objective of such drug rehab programs, but this only is not the sole objective. The addict’s addiction could have resulted in formation of some other habits which needs to be addressed first. The financial and legal ramifications arising out of such addiction also would require the attention.

A complete drug rehabilitation process comprises of two dependencies – the physical dependency and the psychological dependency. Eroding the physical dependency includes a detoxification process to support the withdrawal symptoms from the use of drugs. A psychological dependency is taken care of by teaching the patient new ways on interacting with a drug free environment.

Recent studies have also indicated that most of the people suffering from alcohol or drub addiction have chemical imbalances in their bodies. This makes the recovery process a little difficult. These imbalances can be corrected trough proper and improved healthy diet, nutritional supplements and a very healthy lifestyle.

Going ahead on the last article, while opting for low calorie healthy products like fat free ice cream, make sure to have a look at the ingredients label.

Although the stuff would have been made out of skimmed milk the sugar content may not have been controlled resulting into higher calories which would further convert to fat. It is likely that fat free soups might have preservatives and sodium beyond the required levels.<u1:p></u1:p><u1:p> </u1:p>

Indulging in a low fat controlled diet is useful when the logic and the consequences of ingredients are understood. Over engagement or under engagement of any of the nutrients can affect the overall balance of your health diet.<u1:p></u1:p><u1:p> </u1:p>In order to find what you are looking for, make sure to look at multiple avenues of information like health consultants, magazines, forums etc.

What is printed on the labels and cartons are all part of the trade gimmicks and practices. It is necessary to understand the actual meanings of what the statements indicate and what they claim. Low cal food need not necessarily mean lower calories. Most of these low fat foods should be supplemented with some syrup or other products.<u1:p></u1:p><u1:p> </u1:p>A recent study showed that some of the people with a low fat food diet ended up gaining weight. This is because most of this low fat food had refined carbohydrates which actually increased the sugar level.

<u1:p></u1:p>

With each passing moment as more and more cases instances of stress, aggression and depression come forth to light, the society as a whole needs to have a relook at our children’s behavioral health – mental and psychological.

With growing incidents of childhood and adolescent aggression, depression and even suicide sounding alarmingly familiar we should be pressing the panic button about children’s mental health. However there is little support to say that the button is within our sights.

Institutes like Three springs can only come when we realize the magnitude of the problem. The WHO – World Health Organization – has indicated that by the end of year 2020, behavioral neurospsychiatric disorders would rise by over 50%, worldwide. Although the issue is big enough, the intervention levels are only in their infancy stage.

The underlying causes for such problems are aplenty. The causes have more to do with the changing social norms and the lifestyles than the mental strength of the teenager. Even though the teenagers might be more genetically pre-disposed to adhd treatment and depression, the environmental factors also cause much damage and aggravate the crisis.

Increased awareness among the parents is needed to remove the apprehensions attached to seeking medical help on such issues. A more focused training to teachers to handle mental and behavioral problems and specialized counseling courses are the way ahead.
