August 12, 2010
Balanced diet is a must for anyone and everyone. But for a diabetic patient, the importance of a balanced diet increases much more. A balanced diet is considered to be something that comprises of all nutrients in proper proportions. For diabetic patients you just need to have all of it in your diet and just refrain yourself from some types of food.
So if you have a sweet tooth then we are really sorry for you. Because being a diabetic and a sweet lover cannot go hand in hand, because you have to avoid sweets and anything that contains sweet proportions. So you should have food that is low in fat, low in sugar content and low in salt levels too. Go for food which has starchy carbohydrates like chapatti, rice or bread. Include a lot of vegetables and fruits in your diet, suggested five portions a day. Because they have fibre and it gives the much needed energy to the body. So keep these things in mind and enjoy your food.
