Must Do’s for effective eye care

It is important to protect one’s as well as that of children’s eyes from the damaging rays of sun. Wearing sun glasses that block UV-A and UV-B rays are a healthy way of caring for your eyes. A failure to do so might result in a blurred eye sight and would require intervention of lasik technology to restore the eyesight appropriately. Observance of some of the best preventive practices would go a long way for healthy eyesight.

  • Get your eyes examined at least once between your life age of 20 and 39, every two to three years between the life age 40 and 65, and once every 2 years beyond the life age of 60.
  • A child’s eyes should be examined first at the age of six months, again after a year i.e. at the age of a year and half and then at the age of five years. After that, routine examinations should be performed if there are any symptoms indicating any eyesight problems.
  • All diabetics require annual dilated eye examination. Control of diabetes and blood pressure ensures healthy eyes.
  • Cobwebs in from of eyes should be given an urgent attention of the doctor.
  • Smoking is also a factor that attributes towards loss of eye sight. Stop smoking to prevent partial/full blindness
