Prevent Motion Sickness
May 6, 2010
Ever felt sick when traveling? Probably feelings of throwing up or even headaches or difference in hearing especially after traveling long hours? This is what is termed as motion sickness. All these symptoms come from the labyrinth which is a part of the inner ear as a result of changes in a person’s equilibrium.
Motion sickness can not be entirely avoided but can be minimized to a point so that traveling doesn’t have to be a night mare. A person should avoid strong smelling substances like perfumes as these may cause nausea.
If you are traveling by bus avoid seats that are directly below the wheels as these increase he rate of motion, when in a car sitting in the front is always preferable. Heavy foods should also be avoided because digestion of these foods is very slow and rapid movement will only help to get them out of the body through vomiting. Other things that can also be done is opening a car window to allow some fresh air and getting some drugs that can help avoid motion sickness.
