Say No! to fat

Date December 13, 2007

Obesity, a resultant of an increase in fat in the body, is now a national health problem for many nations, developing as well as developed. One of the magazines has reported that in some of the developing nations the underweight citizens have more fat content than their over weight counterparts in other parts of the developed world.

In a world wide survey conducted recently, published in some of the health and fitness magazines, 45-60% of working class citizens in urban centers of developing nations were found to be overweight. In another such survey around 25-30% of urban school children in such nations were found to be beyond their required weight category.

It would be a healthy idea if schools remove the vending machines for soft drinks and provide for a healthy nutritious food in their canteens.
