Ulcer treatments

bacteriaUlcers are human organs that look like sores that are generally 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch in diameter and sometimes ulcers also vary from 1 to 2 inches in diameter. The ulcers are found just below the stomach at the beginning of the small intestine.

Ulcer problems are mainly caused by the bacterium known in the medical world as the Helicobacter pylori and the H. pylori bacterium is spiral-shaped and is found in the stomach. H. pylori is capable of twisting through the layer of mucous protecting the stomach cavity. This bacteria attaches to the cells on the surface of the stomach wall producing urease.

There is no dearth of medications available in the market that is used to treat ulcer problems. Many types of medicines are used to treat ulcer problems that include H2-blockers, mucosal protective agents and proton-pump inhibitors. All of these medications are used in combination with antibiotics fight against the bacteria that causes ulcer problems.
